LE DONNE DEL VINO - WOMEN AND SUMMER WINE IN APULIA

We had the pleasure of participating in the first edition of the Summer Wine event in Locorotondo, Bari, in the Tenuta Cardone Vini.

The event was organised by the local government of the city as part of the celebration of the Saint of the city, San Rocco.

Locorotondo or "Wine City" is known as the mother of wine. This is one event that Puglia region organises with, "Le Donne del Vino" / Wine's Women. Wine, food, and cultural traditions come together for an event that is "on the move" -- one different location each time to bring awareness to all local producers, region by region.

«SummerWine is a welcome from "Le Donne del Vino" in a very special corner of Puglia, each year different - Sabrina Soloperto, President of "Le Donne del Vino" Puglia delegation, explains - This time was Valle d'Itria time. The event was the representation of a photogallery of Puglia, displaying the beauty of the country side, its summer smells, traditional food and traditions.»

SummerWine 2015 hosted 16 Wineries: Agricola Spinelli, Agricole Vallone, Azienda Agricola Vetrere, Azienda Mottura, Azienda Vinicola Rivera, Cantine Di Marco, Cantine Imperatore, Cantine Paolo Leo, Cantine Soloperto, Cardone Vini Classici, Consorzio Produttori Vini, L'Antico Palmento, Severino Garofano Vigneti e Cantine, Tenuta Ripa Alta, Varvaglione Vigne &Vini, Vignaflora.

With our perfectly pink glass holder we could taste up to 7 types of wines and taste really great local food: bombette, spelt and vegetables, fried bread with peppers and fresh ricotta cheese.o
Our favorites were, Girofle rosé wine, Vetrere white wine, Mottura, Rivera and Paolo Leo rosé.

Here you can see some other great pictures taken during the event that illustrate the delightful ambiance and atmosphere (pictures credits to Simona Giacobbi & Rocco Lamparelli).

We'll follow the next "Le Donne Del Vino" events all over Italy and potentially to be internationalised abroad!

Who doesn't love wine? Certainly not us!
